The VIVA honeycomb panel features an aluminum honeycomb core sandwiched between two prepainted aluminum sheets. This structure provides very high rigidity with low weight, allowing for larger-format panels with less substructure, and it is certified as Class A1 non-combustible according to EN 13501 by Thomas Bell-Wright.
What is an aluminum honeycomb panel?
It is a sandwich panel whose core consists of hexagonal aluminum cells, like a honeycomb. The cells act like small beams: they distribute the load and prevent the surface from warping, so the panel remains flat even in large sizes. Since it has no plastic core, the entire panel is made of metal.
Technical Advantages
- Non-flammable: FR A1 classification according to EN 13501, certified by Thomas Bell-Wright.
- Lightweight and rigid: core with a density of 45 kg/m³ and cell sizes of 9.5 or 12.7 mm.
- Thicknesses of 10, 12, 20, and 25 mm for wide clearings.
- Superior Flatness in sizes up to 4,000 mm long.
- PVDF or FEVE Coating and a 15-year warranty under VIVA.
Applications in Mexico
Large-format ventilated facades, suspended ceiling panels, lobbies and public areas, subway stations, airports and terminals, and projects architectural that require non-combustible materials.
Honeycomb or ACP: How to Choose
- Honeycomb: large panels, ceiling tiles, and projects that require Class A1.
- ACP: The most economical option for standard facades, offering the widest variety of finishes.
- ACP FR: when a B1 or A2 grade is required for thin sections.
